Donna Cooper
Donna has said a few phrases bounce around in her brain as she works:
“Fear no color.” – Uknown
“Stay in the room.” – Pamela Druckerman
“The chief enemy of creativity is common sense.” – Pablo Picasso
“Nothing is original.” Austin Kleon
“Step away from the canvas!” -Ann Munson
“Take time to look.” – Georgia O’Keeffe
And so she goes to her design wall and begins. Her work has evolved into a style that is minimalistic, colorfully contemporary, perhaps with small touches of handwork. I use many design tools that I learned through over 35 years of weaving—a fearless color palette, design simplicity, the use of line, texture and shape as design elements, and the self-imposed challenge to simply keep it simple.
